Ok! So your seeking quality childcare that's close to home, affordable, and promises to teach, love, and care for your child....And you come across "Sally Sues Daycare" ( Totally made up!). Here are some things you want make sure of:
Is the daycare licensed?
The state has a system set up in order to get licensed that includes multiple background checks and training.
How many years of experience with children do you have?
Being a mother does not count!! Yes, this is a plus when it comes to knowing what a mother expects when it comes to caring for a child but how many years and what qualifications do you have as far as teaching, dealing with outburst, and creating daily age-appropriate activities?
Has the setting of care been inspected and evaluated?
You want your child to be in a safe environment!! Toys cleaned on the daily basis, furniture safe and age-appropriate, baby gates in place and outlets covers in use, etc.
OH! But "Sally Sues Daycare" only charges 1/2 of what other providers charge......
You get what you pay for!
Be patient and don' settle. Choosing the right childcare is very important.
Check back frequently for more info and updates leading to our grand opening on September 1st!

One Caregiver is the KEY!
Huge, institutionalized daycares are convenient and always seem to have openings, however, did you ever put yourself in your child's shoes? Multiple teachers throughout the day not to mention the high turnover rates, lack of individualized attention, and a setting where new "unacceptable" behaviors such as spitting and bitting can be introduced and adapted can be overwhelming and very scary. At a home provider your child will have only 1 to 2 caregivers which allows a bond to be created. Extra doses of attention never hurt! Also the transition of starting care and being away from parents is a whole lot easier and personal.

Getting Ready to Get Started...
My name is Justine and I have some exciting news for Beechview and surrounding communities. On September 1, 2013 it will be the grand opening of my registered/licensed extended hours in-home childcare. Outstanding quality care will be provided to children ages 6wks-3yrs and preschool to 4 and 5 year olds. "Sunday School" (bible lessons and activities) every Wednesday, Justine's Mommy Text, before and after school care for children attending Beechwood, nutritional meals, toddler manners class and pottytraining are just a very few of the programs I plan to offer on the regular basis. In a home setting within a small group your child will get the attention, love, and care a big chilcare center can not offer.
